I finally got my satellite radio working again after several months of not having it - and I had forgotten how much I loved it. I’ve gotten used to listening to it again over the past couple of weeks during my commute and today I figured I’d actually use the internet part of it as well. Within 5 minutes of listening to BBC 1 I heard a song from a band I’d never known of - The Hold Steady. The couple of songs I’ve heard so far have two things in common - they sound like mid-80s Bruce Springsteen (which isn’t a bad thing) and they really make me want to drink. They’re songs about drinking for time when you’re drinking and it’s some really good rock and roll.
I mention this because I wasn’t going to have a beer tonight - I went out to the gym and came home feeling like accomplishing something. But instead I heard some awesome music about drinking and so I was (easily) swayed to follow along. Unfortunately I grabbed this Peroni instead of something good. The sad thing is, I think it could be a tasty beer - it at least has a nice hoppy smell to it, plus an enticing light golden color. However, it seems like it spent too much time on the shelf in a single bottle - it’s skunked for sure. It’s bad enough to cover up almost all of the other flavors, though some of the hops do come through, as well as a small metallic taste.
