Nice and malty with a sweet finish. Samual Adams using a darker malt in this works pretty well - same general hop profile but with a deeper flavor and more roasted taste along with some chocolate notes. I love the Black Lager. Come to think of it, I like my beer the way I like my women, dark with a good head (sorry, couldn’t resist
. But in general, yes, I prefer maltiness to hoppiness in my beer, and the Black Lager hits my palate just right.
