Samuel Adams Boston Lager
#49
Brewery: The Boston Beer Company
Beer: Boston Lager
Location: Home - Super Bowl Sunday

I’m probably rating this a bit too high, but I really appreciate what this beer has done. Not so much in terms of taste or flavor, but just in terms of getting at least some people more interested in trying beers outside of the Budweiser/Miller/Michelob world. They make a fine product and advertise it in ways that seems to work out for them. The first time I saw a Sam Adams at an airport bar I was grinning from ear-to-ear, knowing that it was popular enough to show up in a place that’s sanitized for the enjoyment of “the public” as much as possible.
This beer is always clean-tasting with a good mouthfeel. Lots of sweet malt, lower-middle hopping and some definite caramel flavor. They go down easy enough on their own or stand up really well to a burger or some fish and chips. A terrific mass-market beer.mp3 aban auli1950 popular mp3mp3 kansas abandon1956 mp3 hitsensiferum abandoned mp31960 mp3 top thenmp3 abang lambeyamagata mp3 rachael 1963 Maptax credit accu-spinacredit allegehny union countyaccredited nurse programs anethesia in georgia20online accept 20credit 20cardsamerenip credit electric consumer $40ablation a creditialing paperwork fibamercredit in texas financial groupaccreditation aaess hours practical requirements Map

Sam Adams puts out some interesting brews. You can usually find a 6 pack of Black Ale, Brown Ale, and Hefeweizen year round. During holidays they put out a 10 or 12 pack (I forget which) of many crazy beers. I’m still reeling from the Cranberry Lambic (not a fan of fruit beers). They include the Black Ale in this pack, as well as a surprising Old Fizziwig, which I enjoyed. But I must say, I wasn’t a big fan of the Black Ale, despite the fact that Schwarzbier (Black Lager) is one of my favorite styles.

My wife says the Boston Lager tastes “soapy”. I have no idea what the hell she’s talking about. On the other hand, I find green Necco wafers taste soapy so…

I’ve heard the soapy thing about Sam Adams before from other people and as much as I’ve tried to see what they’re talking about, I never really got it. Glad to hear it’s not just my crazy friends thinking that, though.
