This ended up being a lot better than I had been expecting - I really thought I was going to just get a slap in the face with a mouth full of elderberries and then want to cry. Luckily it’s not so much the case here.

Nice thick head that ran away quickly over a very dark red beer. Berry scent but it’s not really overpowering in the taste. Good mouthfeel for a dark ale, medium berry flavor and a smoothness from the oats that brings it together nicely.
