Sticking my nose right up next to the head of this beer and inhaling deeply brought one immediate thought to my head - pina colada. Why a pale ale is smelling like pina colada, I have no idea - but it was. Now that the head’s gone and I’ve taken a couple of mouthfuls of the beer that smell seems to have disappeared as well. Very odd - I have no idea where that came from.
The beer itself is nice-looking: medium-amber color with a big (colada) head that went away as soon as I started drinking it. Some caramel flavors along with a nice, average amount of hops. It’s a little sweeter than I was expecting when I poured it out - and I’m generally not that much of a fan of the sweeter beers. But this one seems to work pretty well.
